What are the questions you consider to be big & important? E.g., how did the universe begin? Is spacetime continuous or discrete? What's the origin of life? How exactly does consciousness work?
Using geometry, humans have the intellectual arsenal to confront the universe.
The most obvious aspect of the universe is that it is a spatial phenomenon which is why we can make use of geometry to study it. Let’s reduce the question to: What is the connection between geometry and consciousness? Which one do you think must come first and which comes after it?
The first step is to recognize that consciousness precedes geometry. Geometry cannot exist before the existence of consciousness. Geometry - which is basically drawing - is an activity of consciousness.

(2) beckons us to compare - make the connection - between the tree - which exists on earth below - and the stars in the galaxies above.
That which is within, without, above and below us fulfills a certain geometrical imperative, which is known as the fractal.
If one understands the reasons why - above questions pertaining to processes - the universe exists, answers to how will fall into place.
Aesthetics is the bridge between consciousness and geometry, fractal geometry to be precise. The universe is woven of mathematical rigor and musical play.
