What is the necessary essence of existence?
Answer to the question is consciousness and design (or purpose).
The role of consciousness is associated with the realm of principles
Then Beauty-Intelligence or beautiful intelligence.
Then the interplay of intelligence and beauty.
A metric of consciousness should be useful to maintain the play of existence.
This metric must necessarily be immutable otherwise the integrity of existence will not hold up.
The metric brings together form and meaning rolled into one.
The plan of consciousness was to set up a stage upon which all players play the roll according to their script.
The same metric is used to set up the stage. The purpose of the play is to praise consciousness, and reflect its beauty. The metric is non other than the Golden ratio, which needs no elaboration.
The set up must be such that the design is clearly displayed.
This is done via reflections of beauty that portray the facade (or face) of consciousness which can be identified intuitively as well as analytically.
Essence is to design as substance is to material. The material used to fulfill the design is magnetism. At this juncture, we briefly leave the realm of principles to delve into the realm of manifestation. The realm of manifestations is ontologically dependent on the realm of principles, never the other way round.
The realm of manifestation exhibits a mirage which we call physical materials.
Physical materials belong to the realm of the ephemeral or the fleeting and do not last. In contrast to the realm of physical materials, the realm of principles are immutable - lasts forever - and cannot be physically destroyed.
Point sources do not exist in nature because nature is two dimensional and cannot be reduced any further. The realm of nature clearly exhibits its two dimensionality even when attempts to view it as a point source or a line is done.
The biggest clue come from the the results of the well known Michelson-Morley experiment:
An objective conclusion to this experiment is: light is a wave phenomenon. Light is a wave phenomenon not a particulate phenomenon and should be respected as such.
The results of this experiment is independent of the way it was set up.
The picture above shows analytically the vertical and horizontal dimensions of space, which overwhelmingly makes up the stuff of the universe.
The vertical dimension is time whereas the horizontal dimension is energy.
Do understand that the universe belongs to the realm of principles and should be respected as such.
